Hello Jello

Goodbye Pudding

At 22 i’m already a grumpy old lady.

Back in my day when I was a teenager I was so not that annoying.*

Yesterday I went to the mall to spend some gift cards that I had. I spent all of them but I still have some left on each card. At delias I had a card where if I spent fifty dollars I would get 25 dollars back. Some of the shirts they have are cute but for some reason I was in the mood for colorful pants. I was going to get some jeans and some reddish purpleish pants. I was looking for a size 9 because last time I bought pants from there that is what size they were. The girl working there asked if I needed help and what size I wore. I told her 9 and she told me I should try on 7. When I went to the fitting room to try them on the girl told me to make sure I come out and show them to her to make sure they fit right. What? I know how they are supposed to fit and I also know how I like them to fit. Also with those pants I was trying on a size 5 & 7. Normally I like my size. There were 3 or 4 other girls in there who I could hear talking about how they weren’t sure if the size 1 or 3 would be better to get. Felt slightly fat. Ugh. One thing that I thought was kind of funny is I now own pants from there that are sizes 5, 7, & 9 and they all fit me really good.

I think I realized why I don’t go to the mall a lot. Teenagers are kind of annoying. I definately need to go places when they are in school. Last spring break I went to the movies with someone and we went during a weeknight and there was hardly anyone there since our spring break was not at the same time as the schools around here. It was nice.

*I am really glad to be done with highschool.

How old am I?

I am 22 years old. I have been told I look as young as 13. The oldest I have been told I look is 20. When I go to casinos I am asked for my id a few times. When having any alcohol at restaurants I always am asked for my id. When I tell people I graduated this summer they ask where I am going to college. They think I graduated from highschool. I tell them I graduated from college. Sometimes they look surprised. During my internship at the police department people asked if I was the kid of whoever I was with sometimes. I didn’t think I looked that young or they looked that old.

I want to find a job working with kids. I think I am going to be a substitute teacher. I have been told that I will probably look the same age as some of the kids. I think I need to make myself look older. I have been told with the way my hair is now (short with bangs) I look older then how I had it before (long no bangs). I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep my hair short of have it long again. Now I think I will keep it short. I do like looking younger than what I am. I don’t want to always look older, but it would be nice to seem older than the kids I would like to work with.

I was on Myspace or facebook a few days ago and I realized that my cousin is a freshman in high school. That made me feel kind of old. How is she in high school already?? Sigh.

Police Department Internship Day 25

In car from 10am-6pm.

First officer: Stopped someone. Wrote him a warning. I got to fill out the warning ticket.

Second Officer: He told me a lot of stuff about guns. I knew absolutely nothing about guns before our talk. He explained the different kind of bullets and guns. Apparently they have these soap filled bullet things that they use for training. They went to the highschool and did a training for a school shooting type thing. The soap things can fit into all (I think) guns. It’s kind of like paintballs only with soap and they break easily. He talked to me for kind of a while about guns and bullets and all that stuff. He even took apart the gun and showed me what exactly happens. That was probably my favorite thing that happened today.

Police Department Internship Day 14

Talked to a probation officer.

Thinking I might get a job and then do graduate school during it rather than do school first.

Detectives saw my high school picture. Gah. Embarrassing.

Saw the puppy find drugs.

Police Department Internship Day 4

  • Dispatch from 1pm-9pm.
  • People coming in more today than yesterday.
  • Everyone that I’ve met seems nice and awesome.
  • The mom of people that I graduated high school with was in here.
  • DU told me I don’t have to stay until 9. & I don’t have to work Monday. Yay! for the holiday.
  • Did not freeze today since I had a sweater.
  • Happy that today was better. A lot less boring.
  • Definitely need to quit this quiet thing. Thinking that the joke of I’m so loud won’t be going away.
  • Waited until end of day to get signature that I needed. Bad idea. Kind of busy. Should definitely get signature whenever the person I’m with has time.
  • The total of not guys I have met is now up to 5. Maybe by next week it will be in the double digits. Counting the number of women is probably only entertaining to me.
