Police Department Internship Day 28
I was there from 6am-1pm. Today wasn’t a very busy day. I like riding in the cars, but when it’s not busy it’s not as fun. Riding in cars has definately made me more talkative. There are a few people I haven’t sat in cars with, but most of the people that I have been in a car with I have been with them a few times.
Even though I like all the people and everyone is nice and awesome I do have a favorite that I like driving with the most.
I think I have said this before, but everyone has different ways of doing things and I really like seeing how people do things different.
Police Department Internship Day 28
6am-1pm.
Patrol: Drive around a lot. Didn’t get many calls. Made some stops because of stop signs. There was a vandalism thing. Did a report at the station.
Animal Control: Went to the pound in our town and the one in the town next to us. The one in the other town had a bunch of dogs. They were in a house and not treated very well. Sad. I wanted to take them all home. In our town pound she had a Siamese cat and three kittens. The kittens were kind of shy around people. They kept hiding. The Siamese cat was super friendly. I told her that if I didn’t have two dogs and a cat at home I would have adopted it. She told me that usually she keeps them for a week and then they either go to the humane society or she just gets people to adopt them. I so want the cat. It’s kind of perfect. She asked me if I knew anyone who wanted a cat. Not sure that I do, but….. Anyone who knows me or knows someone who lives near me want to adopt a cat?
Police Department Internship Day 27
Was with three different officers today. Once again in a car from 6am-2pm.
Officer 1: I got to use the radar gun again. He wrote someone a ticket for speeding. I like using it. While I was holding it a car would drive by and he would say how fast he it was going. He did it with a few of the cars and he was right. He wasn’t like close he would say 31 and the radar gun said 31. One thing that he did a lot was sing the songs on the radio. He also dances while he sings sometimes. Definitely maybe the most entertaining officer. Even though we started at 6am he was very awake. We talked about tanning for kind of a whileish. He said he didn’t think he had ever talked so much about tanning. I don’t think I have ever talked about tanning very much. For lunch we had Subway again. It’s a good thing I like it because we eat there a lot. One of the girls working there thought I was his daughter. That would be the fifth time someone has thought I was an officers daughter. Ha. I made him feel old I think. Oops. I talked about one thing I never thought I would talk about with a police officer or with someone at a place where I am doing an internship at. It was kind of odd. It was only like a 1 minute talk, but it was still kind of odd. I didn’t really think about it until later, but it was kind of weird to talk about at an internship.
Officer 2: He stopped someone for something and I got to write out the warning. He wrote someone a ticket because of thier license plate.
Officer 3: Went to a house because people kept calling them from the county jail. Apparently people in jails do that a lot. They will call random numbers and try to get people to answer.
Dear love, You’re kind of terrible & awful, but sometimes kind of wonderful.
Friday I talked to J. He told me he was going to the movies with someone. I think I’ll call her G (for girl). I of course started overthinking that it was a date and they were going to become boyfriend/girlfriend and they were going to get married and they were going to have a million babies. (I’m kind of dramatic. Ha.) He told me they were only friends and maybe some other stuff that I didn’t hear because I was busy planning their wedding and naming their babies.
Saturday night we talked about his wonderful date. He clearly had a date with G and he clearly seemed to like her. Also, I am very stubborn about hearing things even when I know they will upset me.
Sunday we both decided we kind of still liked each other. This whole breaking up thing was good, but once he comes home we will be undoing it. Also, I learned some wonderful news.
Question: Guess who comes home August 1st?
Answer: J!!!!!!
Dear Tinley Park Illinois Health Inspector YOU SUCK AT YOUR JOB.
Today I was at the farmers market. We sell food stuff. The health inspector came. He came the first week and we were fine. Today he was a very crappy person. He told us that there were things we needed and couldn’t sell food until we went and got stuff. One of the chefs went and got stuff. Then he told us something about the size of the wash buckets being wrong. My mom told him that she asked him about the buckets the first week and he said they were fine. He told my mom that he wasn’t paying attention and doing his job that week. OH. MY. GAWD. Seriously? Why would he tell us he wasn’t doing his job. I really don’t feel like having him come every couple of weeks and finding new things wrong because he doesn’t feel like doing his job. I kind of want to figure out who to call because if he isn’t going to do his job he shouldn’t have that job.
